Five Years Later, the First Day of School

While shopping in the Blessing Boutique, a mother showed our team a photo of her son on his first day of school. Five years earlier, she had come to the center for a pregnancy test while considering abortion.

She remembered our nurse manager’s encouragement: although she had not planned the pregnancy, God already had a plan for her baby’s life. She chose life. Now, looking at her son’s photo, she told us, “Today, he’s one of the best things that ever happened to me.”

Her visit brought two moments together: a pregnancy decision made in uncertainty and a school milestone worth celebrating. It also showed why Cove Care’s work reaches beyond a first appointment into the years of family life that follow.

Serving Fayette County Since 1994

Cove Care began in May 1994 as Fayette PRC, a faith-based nonprofit offering physical, emotional, and spiritual support to women, men, and families facing unexpected pregnancies. Since then, thousands of women and families have received free pregnancy testing, guidance, and resources for pregnancy and parenting.

In January 2014, we reached an important milestone and became a medical center, adding pregnancy testing and limited ultrasounds performed by qualified medical professionals.

Bringing Medical Care Closer

In 2019, we acquired a Mobile Medical Unit to reach people beyond the center. A registered nurse and her team bring pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, confidential counseling, and resource information into high-need, underserved areas.

The mobile unit extends our services into the community, providing women with another setting to receive care and discuss their pregnancies.

Growing Into Parenthood

Preparing for a baby involves more than gathering supplies. Parents are also learning new responsibilities and considering the kind of example they want to set.

One young woman in EQUIP, our two-year parenting program, said, “I was surprised that I came for help and support, but I got a family… I got a group of women who counseled me, who prayed with me, and I got great advice.”

One young father in our EQUIP program, described becoming more focused, motivated, and responsible as he awaited his baby’s birth. He was thinking about his future differently and learning to put someone else before himself.

Through educational programs and the Blessing Boutique, Cove Care helps parents build their knowledge and earn resources for their children. Supporters share in that work through their gifts, volunteer service, and prayers.

Our story continues in the families we serve: in a mother finding help, a father preparing for his baby, and a child reaching a milestone years later. The gospel of Jesus Christ and the sanctity of human life remain at the heart of that care.
